RPG question

Postby Tamara on Thu Jan 08, 2009 10:29 pm

What should I do if I want to start new RPG but I don't have a good plot to start with and I expect someone else to create the plot? It's like I ask someone to ask me to join their RPs. Is it possible to do that?

I was gonna say that you might be best to go here for IRPP (Incomplete Role Play Plot): Wanted Ads//Plot Bunnies

Note: Sorry for the email Tamira. At the time the server was giving me some problems.
Cheers,

Just send them a private message on the forum and ask them if they would RP with you. If they say yes, then you can start talking communicating and come up with a plot together. Yes, together. An RP takes two people, so, both people should be working on it equally and that includes coming up with a plot. It's not fair to make someone else do all the work.

I suppose you could ask someone if you can join their RP... but more often then not, they're going to say no. When you create an RP, you tend to decide on how you want it to work (and that includes how many people are playing). So, it would be hard to admit another person into the RP without changing a large majority of the plot that they had already worked out to accommodate them. You see?

If you're still confused about what I mean, try checking out and reading my post: Creating Your First RPG & Managing It!

Thank you for the explanation and suggestion.
@ RR : Love you love you love you ^.^
@ Ren : Thanks for the email.
@ Opheliac. Your first paragraph is the answer I'm looking for. I thought if someone want to start a new RP, they have to prepare the whole setting/plot first. I won't ask anyone to let me join any ongoing RP, more like ask someone to do more work than me when it come to create the big plot.

XD You're welcome! ^___^ You don't HAVE to prepare everything to make an RP... it's just more fun that way. If you don't have a plot, the rp gets boring and fades away. o.o;

I'd like to RP with you sometime though. ^____^
